We're current Queen's Commerce students. We took this exact interview last year. We know what Queen's is looking for, what most students get wrong, and how to fix it. And 70% of our fee only gets paid if your student gets in.

We're Evan Haick and Elliott Mann Shaw. We applied to Queen's Commerce, sat the Kira interview in 2025, and got in. We know the written response, the video, and the strategy that separates offers from rejections because we did it ourselves, on the current process, not a version from a decade ago.
We built Commerce Edge because when we applied, there was no clear guide to what actually mattered, just a lot of guessing under pressure. So we made the resource we wish we'd had, and put a guarantee behind it.
We keep the program intentionally small, meaning every student gets dedicated, personal support throughout the entire process.
70% of our program fee is conditional on your student receiving an offer from Queen's Commerce. That portion is only charged if they get in. If they complete the program and don't, it is never charged. We only win if you do.
The admissions landscape changes every year. We know exactly what the process looks like right now. We just went through it.
The Kira interview isn't hard. It's unfamiliar.
Those aren't the same thing.
Evan & Elliott, Commerce Edge
There are two parts to the Queen's Commerce application. Understanding both, in detail, is where serious preparation starts.
Queen's evaluates your top six Grade 12 U or M courses, submitted through OUAC in the fall of Grade 12. Above the cutoffs below, the supplemental is where strong applicants separate themselves.
After OUAC submission, every applicant completes a back-to-back session on the Kira Talent platform: a written response and a video response, with no breaks between them.
The program begins in September and runs eight weeks, building toward a polished, strategically positioned application. Each week builds directly on the last.
Get oriented, meet your matched Queen's Commerce mentor, and lock in your plan for the eight weeks ahead.
A clear-eyed look at how Queen's Commerce actually evaluates applicants, and where preparation makes the real difference.
Shape the through-line that makes your application feel intentional and memorable, instead of a list of activities.
Turn your strongest experiences into sharp, specific material you can draw on when it counts.
Get fluent at the 10-minute, 335-word Kira written response, so you're not figuring it out on the day.
Get comfortable and specific on camera, answering real Kira-style questions under timed pressure.
Full, timed mock Kira sessions, reviewed with us, until the real thing feels familiar.
Everything you need to walk into Kira ready instead of hoping, right down to the day itself.
A structured, self-paced program covering every stage of the Queen's Commerce application: positioning, narrative, the Kira Talent interview, and final review. You work through it on your own schedule, and it anchors every call we have.
A dedicated session with your Commerce Edge advisor through the full application window. We go deep on wherever you actually are, not a scripted checklist.
We build your positioning from the ground up: how to frame your story, what to lead with, which activities matter most, and how to present all of it so your application lands with admissions.
The Kira written response is timed and unseen: 10 minutes, 335 words. We train you to structure a clear, specific answer under pressure so you're not figuring it out on the day.
The interview is where most strong applicants underperform. Timed mock sessions, recorded feedback, and a repeatable approach that holds up under pressure. You'll know exactly what to say and how to say it.
A current Queen's Commerce student matched to your interests and career direction. Regular 1-on-1 check-ins through the process, and a genuine connection waiting for you when you arrive at Queen's.
Email and message access to your advisor between calls. A quick question about a deadline, a quick review of a practice response. We're reachable, and you're not waiting until next week's call.
70% of the program fee is conditional on your student receiving an offer from Queen's Commerce. That portion is only charged if they get in. If they complete the program and don't, it is never charged. We put our money behind our ability to prepare them.
A relaxed 20-minute call with you and your parents. We get to know your student, answer everything, and see if we're the right fit.
If it's a match, you enroll and we start before applications open, so you're ahead from day one.
We learn your story, set your positioning strategy, match your mentor, and map out the eight weeks together.
Weekly coaching, the portal, and timed Kira practice, all the way to a polished application and a confident interview.
Commerce Edge is an eight-week application coaching program for Grade 12 students applying to Queen's Commerce. We're current Queen's Commerce students who recently went through the same admissions process. We work with students one-on-one to help them build a stronger, better-positioned application.
Evan Haick and Elliott Mann Shaw, both current Queen's Commerce students who sat this exact interview in 2025 and got in. We know the Kira Talent interview, the written response, and what separates the applications that receive offers, on the current version of the process. We started Commerce Edge because a guide like this would have made a real difference for us when we were applying.
Kira Talent is the platform Queen's Commerce uses for its supplemental application. Every applicant completes a written response (10 minutes, 335-word limit) and a video response (2 minutes to prepare, 2 minutes to record) in a single back-to-back session with no breaks. There is no live interviewer. Just the student on camera, responding to a question they've never seen before. This is where most strong applicants underperform, and where the majority of our coaching is focused.
Most applicants to Queen's Commerce have strong grades, with averages above 90% common among both accepted and rejected students. The differentiator is the supplemental application. Students who arrive at Kira without a clear narrative, practiced stories, or experience answering questions on camera consistently underperform relative to their academic record. Preparation for this specific format is what moves the needle at the margin.
Yes, a minimum 87% average. Queen's Commerce requires at least an 87% average for a realistic chance at an offer, so we hold applicants to the same bar. It also means we only take on students we genuinely believe we can help earn an offer.
Everything. The full program includes access to our eight-module online portal, weekly 30-minute 1-on-1 advisory calls, written response coaching, Kira Talent interview prep and mock sessions, a matched Queen's Commerce mentor for regular 1-on-1 sessions throughout the process, and direct advisor access between calls. There is one plan, with no tiers and no add-ons.
70% of the program fee is a performance fee, and we only charge it if your student receives an offer from Queen's Commerce. If they complete the program and don't get in, that portion is never charged. The remaining 30% covers the work completed regardless of outcome and is non-refundable. We structured it this way because we want our incentives aligned with yours. We only fully win when your student does.
All advisory calls and mentor sessions are held over Zoom. Students from anywhere in Canada can participate. There is no in-person requirement.
No, and you should be cautious of any program that does. Admissions decisions are made solely by Queen's University and depend on factors no one can fully control. What we can promise is that your student will arrive at their application with a clearer story, a stronger supplemental, and more confident interview performance than they would without structured preparation.
